I’d love to say this was an uncommon occurrence in Darkest Dungeon II but my time with the game was primarily going through an entire run only to get slaughtered by the boss. My grave robber is dead, the highwayman and hellion are barely hanging on, and the boss is just overwhelming my team. It’s quite frustrating and takes away from the experience as tactical and strategic thinking can only minimize the impact of the dice – not eliminate.“Oh, come on!” I shout at my computer monitor as my plague doctor goes through her second meltdown. Sometimes I’ve won rounds on obvious bone rot where I rolled canon dice over and over again, while other rounds have gone to fanders after the opposite happened. Personally, I bloodied myself in Act 2 for a good fifteen hours… It’s blood, sweat, tears and a great deal of luck that is often required to actually get ahead. The game’s narrative is divided into five acts that gradually become longer and more difficult to tackle. Everything to facilitate future expeditions. These, like everything else, are also unlocked by hand. In addition, a myriad of different trinkets are added. But of course it is possible – if you are a better player than signed. Personally, I find it hard to even imagine playing without the phenomenal tank Man-at-Arms or the versatile Plague Doctor. ![]() ![]() Unfortunately, it’s also a bit of a trap as many classes and roles are significantly stronger/weaker than others.
